Part 4 Exercise 4.1 – 5 Tondo’s

For this exercise we are to make a series of five circular paintings using thinned-down paint – suggestions are provided for medium as well as subjects. Leave the paintings to dry for a later exercise.

I chose as my subjects : globe fish tank, suspended drinking glasses, tangle of weeds /plant pots in the garden, hanging basket and an arrangement of ornaments in our bathroom.

They are all on Daler-Rowney heavyweight finegrain watercolour paper and 28cm in diameter, I used a variety of medium:

Bathroom ornaments – acrylic

Hanging basket – watercolour and ink pen

Weeds in the garden – soft pastel

Suspending drinking glasses – oils

Globe fishtank – oils
